FAQs

AIX Ventures is a seed-stage venture firm, led by some of the world’s top AI practitioners who believe in early-stage companies developing industry-changing AI.

    • We invest in companies where AI is a core component of the main product today.

    • Examples include:

      • A language translation platform that leverages unique machine translation models trained on contextual data.

      • A data labeling platform for the healthcare industry.

      • An AI-enabled hardware-software weather prediction system.

    • We invest in companies across the AI spectrum including NLP, computer vision, robotics, and more.

  • We are sector-agnostic with a focus on Consumer, Developer Tools & Data, Healthcare/Life Sciences, Manufacturing & Warehousing, and SaaS.

We’re currently investing in Future of Work applications and infrastructure, but also have an interest in any entrepreneur with an insight that will change an industry.

  • We invest across the early stages, from PreSeed to Series A.

  • We target checks between $1 and $5MM. We also reserve funds for follow-on investments in Series A and beyond.

  • We do lead funding rounds, and also partner with top seed stage investors and angels.

  • Once we determine that a company is AI-focused, we take a generalist approach to investing. We look for an amazing founding team that has insight into how to disrupt an industry and signs of product market fit for their initial product, including revenue traction.

  • Our due diligence and investment process is generally as follows:

    • Founders meet with our HQ team for an introductory call.

    • Next, they meet with one or more of our investment partners.

    • Finally, the HQ team completes a diligence memo on the company and brings it to the investment committee for a vote.

  • Our AI practitioners work closely with our HQ investing and platform teams, led by our co-founder Shaun Johnson, to provide our founders company-building and deep AI expertise.

We support our portfolio companies in several key areas:

    -Customer introductions
    -Making key hires
-Business strategy, including the technical and go-to-market approaches
-Product and engineering including technical deep dives
-Preparing for the next round of funding, and more
